Novell Data Recovery Services
Got a Failed Novell Server? To find out how you can regain lost data same or next day, call now!
Novell Inc. designed and developed the Novell NetWare and SUSE Linux network operating systems, targeting enterprise desktop and server needs. It's a stable platform, but like any system it can fail over time — and when it does, your data usually isn't gone for good.

Novell NetWare server down, volumes showing corruption, or Vrepair failing? Stop right there.
Running Vrepair repeatedly or forcing multiple reboots can overwrite the very data you're trying to save. Power the server down and let our engineers assess it safely first.
What Is Novell Data Recovery?
Novell NetWare (versions 3.x through 6.x) and Novell Linux Desktop are optimised for corporate networks, storing data in the Traditional Novell File System (NWFS), the Novell Storage System (NSS), or Ext2FS/Ext3FS on Linux-based builds.
Data loss on Novell systems falls into two categories: logical and physical failure. Physical failure is more complex, but the data is recoverable in the vast majority of cases.
Why Choose Disk Doctors for Novell Recovery
Our specialised technicians have rich experience recovering lost data from Novell platforms successfully, whether the cause is a damaged volume, a failed Vrepair, or a physically failing drive.
If the Novell OS has crashed due to hard drive failure, the drive is taken to a Class 100 Clean Room to replace damaged components and get it working again. No Recovery, No Charge is our policy — we get your data back, or you don't pay us anything.
Supported Data Loss Situations
- Damaged sub-allocated volumes
- Lost or corrupted MBR or boot sector
- Damaged compressed volumes
- Vrepair failure
- Damaged segmented volumes
Our Data Recovery Process
Our data recovery process is secure, transparent, and designed to minimise downtime. Here's how it works:
Send us your device using the free postage label and our engineers will assess it for free. We'll let you know exactly what's recoverable before you commit.
We create a full, bit-by-bit clone of your storage media to preserve the original. Your data remains untouched while we work on the image copy.
Depending on the fault, we use cleanroom hardware repairs or forensic software tools to extract your data, even from damaged or encrypted media.
You'll receive a file list of everything we can recover. Once approved, we'll return your data on a secure USB drive or via encrypted cloud transfer.
Supported Operating Systems
Windows
NTFS, FAT32 & exFAT recovery across every Windows release.
From Windows 11 down to legacy XP and Server builds, we recover deleted, formatted and RAID-failed volumes — including BitLocker-encrypted and dynamic disks.
Mac
APFS & HFS+ recovery, including encrypted and Time Machine volumes.
We work on MacBook, iMac and Mac Pro drives running any macOS version, on both Apple Silicon and Intel hardware, including FileVault-encrypted and Fusion Drive setups.
UNIX / Linux / Solaris
ext2/3/4, XFS, ZFS & UFS recovery on Unix, Linux and Solaris.
Covers standalone servers, NAS appliances and RAID/LVM arrays running Linux, Sun Solaris, IBM AIX, HP-UX, BSD variants and other Unix-based systems.
Novell
Novell NetWare recovery using the NSS file system.
Our engineers work directly with Novell NetWare servers, recovering data from both traditional and NSS volumes after corruption or failed migrations.
DOS & Others
Legacy DOS, FAT16 and other older or discontinued systems.
We also support other legacy and discontinued platforms not listed here — get in touch to check compatibility with your specific system.
Supported File Systems & Devices
File systems: NWFS (Traditional Novell File System), NSS (Novell Storage System), Ext2FS and Ext3FS.
Devices: Hard disk drives (IDE, SATA, SCSI), RAID arrays, tape cartridges, and removable media.
Other operating systems we support: Windows, Mac, UNIX, Linux, Sun Solaris, and BSD (FreeBSD, OpenBSD, NetBSD).
Before You Send It In: Expert Tips
- Do not format the drive or create a new partition
- Never reinstall the operating system or run an automated restore wizard, as it may overwrite your data
- Power off the drive immediately if you hear unusual sounds coming from it
- Do not attempt multiple reboots
- Do not shake or tap the drive, as this can cause further damage
